For those of you who are new to this dish,  Poutine is not only delish it’s a Canadian favorite. Originating from Quebec, Poutine consists of delicious French Fries topped with cheese curds and then smothered in a delicious hot brown gravy.
Emerging in the late 1950s Poutine has long been associated with the cuisine of Quebec and increasing world-wide popularity, has become a symbol cultural pride. You can now find Québécois Poutine in eateries across Canada, United States and Australia.
This delicious concoction of fries, gravy and cheese curds has inspired a three-day festival of over 100 different styles of Poutine, live music, eating, contests, cooking demonstrations and admission is free! It is the Beer & Poutine Fest in Ottawa, Canada.
The event offers traditional Poutine and exotic, international fusions such as pad Thai Poutine, Butter Chicken Poutine, Beef Jerky, Smoked Salmon, Pulled Pork Poutine and a Deep-fried Bacon-wrapped Poutine. It gets better – you can enjoy poutine at the Craft Beer Garden and any of the local fine wine bars in the festival.
